Traditional Dishes

Some Americans with Irish ancestry will celebrate Saint Patrick's Day by preparing and eating corned beef and cabbage. But, a traditional Irish meal would more than likely have pork instead of beef and home grown vegetables, because the Irish in many cases grow their own gardens and raise their own pigs. More than likely a traditional Irish dish would be larger pieces of cured or smoked bacon, that is boiled with cabbage and potatoes or other vegetables that are common in stews.
